ATTENTION
UTU RETIRED YARDMASTERS
Plan I, Plan II, Plan II Wraparound, III, IV and V Members
At the meeting of the UTU Retired Yardmasters Board of Directors held on April 24, 2008, it was the unfortunate decision to terminate all of the UTU Retired Yardmasters Health Plans effective May 31, 2008. You will be receiving correspondence explaining in detail the reason for the termination of this plan.
To assist you in transferring your membership elsewhere in a timely manner, you may wish to consider two possible options regarding your healthcare:
(1) United Healthcare as they are having an open enrollment through May 31, 2008. You may reach them by calling
1-800-842-5252 and identifying yourself as a retired UTU Yardmaster. You should request an application to begin coverage as quickly as possible so that you will not have a lapse in health care coverage.
(2) If you worked for a Railroad that has a Hospital Association representing your road, you may contact them to see if there are options available to you as well. The listing of Hospital Associations, the roads they represent and their phone numbers are as follows:
C & O Employees' Hospital Association (CSX) - 540-862-5728
Consolidated Associations of Railroad Employees (BNSF) - 254-334-1330
Rio Grande Employees Hospital Association (UP) - 303-274-2312
Santa Fe Employees Hospital Association - Coast Lines (BNSF) - 626-967-3550
Union Pacific Railroad Employes Health Systems (UP) - 801-595-4300
Wabash Memorial Hospital Association (NS) - 217-429-5246
